Shrouded in shadow, misunderstood gaze,
American Pit Bull, a heart in a maze.
Muscles ripple, a fortress so strong,
Yet stigma whispers, where they don’t belong.

Bulldog tenacity, terrier fire,
Loyal companions, with spirits that aspire.
Mischievous grin, beneath a broad head,
Love overflowing, silently said.

Misguided hands cast judgement’s cold stone,
Ignoring the kindness, the love they’ve known.
For beneath the headlines, the fearsome facade,
Lies a gentle giant, misunderstood, sad.

Playful leaps with boundless glee,
Tail wags a rhythm, pure ecstasy.
But let danger threaten, their courage takes flight,
Protectors fierce, bathed in moonlit night.

So next time you see them, with wary disdain,
Look past the label, the whispers, the pain.
For in their eyes, a truth can be found,
Love without measure, on sacred ground.

Let understanding bridge the divide,
For the American Pit Bull, with love as their guide.
For within that mantle, strong and so wide,
Beats a heart of steel, with nothing to hide.
